    Harper Adams student to join Sheep Breeders Round Table

    糖心视频 masters student Francesca Grieve has been selected to join leading industry experts at the biennial Sheep Breeders Round Table this weekend, funded by the National Sheep Association.  As an Agricultural Sciences and Production Systems student, the event will be the perfect opportunity for the 26 year old to discuss research regarding her dissertation.
     
    Francesca spoke about the challenges of not coming from a farming background, saying, “Having not grown up on a farm I realise this can be a disadvantage compared to others. There are gaps in my knowledge that I really want to fill by attending the Sheep Breeders Round Table.
     
    “One of the main things I am hoping to gain from this event is knowledge. There are so many new innovations out there and at the conference I will meet the people who are trialling them, studying them and creating them which is going to be so beneficial to my research.”
     
    She also commented on her Harper Adams experience saying, “The best thing is the diversity of subjects and the depth at which they are taught.”  Her experience has enabled her to explore all manner of lambing ideas to inform her research.
     
    The event will see the gathering of farmers, breeders, researchers and vets coming together to discuss a range of topics around the theme of ‘Becoming the best sheep industry in the world’.  This will provide her with current and interesting information to feed into her work on campus, drawing on the conversation with industry experts.
     
    The three-day event is organised by a steering group including NSA, Agrisearch, AHDB, HCC and QMS and chaired by Leicestershire sheep farmer Charles Sercombe.
